People Who Relocate Constantly
What is your dream profession? An actor, a singer or perhaps you would like to be a famous sports person? This is all fine but have you thought about all the extra things and especially traveling that would be required from your part if you decide to go in any of the above spheres? You probably haven’t but it is a rather important thing.
We rarely think about how we see our favourite singers in LA one day and then hosting a show in Tokyo the other. Then in 2 days they are invited to the Tonight Show on NBC or maybe give an exclusive interview in London for BBC. Personal lives are inevitably affected by having this type of schedule and not only of the stars themselves but their support cast too. If you are a security guard or maybe a make-up artist you will most likely be required to travel with Rihanna or Justin Bieber or whoever you work for. You will rarely be able to spend time with your children or wife and visiting relatives will be a distant dream. What’s worse is that you will be more likely busy on every major holiday as your employer will probably be engaged to perform then.
There’s also a second aspect to all this. Professional athletes travel daily for games in other cities or even countries. Yes, we can make the case that they are very well compensated but the obstruction of having a potent personal life is also visible here. Now here’s something we haven’t even given any thought before. These athletes are sometimes traded or sold away to other teams and need to relocate for a big chunk of time. A basketball player playing for the New York Knicks might all of a sudden find himself playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Surely the organisation will help him and his family settle in more easily but him and his family surely have belongings that will need to be transported. This is what keeps the removal companies busy. Domestic removals are important and sometimes the larger the company the better because there are large projects that require covering a lot of distance and transporting a lot of goods at the same time.
Not only that, but families of athletes have to follow them everywhere. And that means that their wives or husbands will need to perhaps change their work place and sometimes even the occupation. But the children probably have it the hardest. They move to new schools and old friendships are often ruined so that new ones can take place. All in all that’s a lot of furniture moving and a lot of professional services needed. Some payers buy apartments or even mansions everywhere they go. Think about all the maintenance that takes place constantly. They might have to hire movers and cleaners that work just for them full time. The question is what happens when our stars retire?
